Next year's road trip, changes in the family, career stuff, etc... life is busy and complicated.

Next year, however...

I know, I know... for every "next year" there is a failure to get started. But I'm serious. Next year.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-11017428.post-75350286864505899942007-10-30T16:12:00.000-04:002007-10-30T16:12:00.000-04:00Good Luck! I don't even want to think about how long it would take to get something really in a publishable form.

@dm osbon - You have the month of November, starting at midnight on November 1 and ending 11:59 on November 30. This means you need to write a little more than 1,666 words/day. It's a lot of fun but definitely takes a committed effort plus a couple of real banner days, since it is tough to write every with your regular schedule and holidays going on!Yeagerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02094244295900113594noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-11017428.post-40866207338532938152007-10-30T14:27:00.000-04:002007-10-30T14:27:00.000-04:00Ok no idea about how I am going to fit this in but...Ok no idea about how I am going to fit this in but I am up for this...how long do you actually get to write 50k words?Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-11017428.post-37525341590443986082007-10-30T14:09:00.000-04:002007-10-30T14:09:00.000-04:00And even when we make the time, writing can be a v...And even when we make the time, writing can be a vindictive mistress. My writing process is problematic, because there are so many steps to doing it right, and I'm still learning something new every day about how to take an immense body of my, and other people's research, different insights, and whatever else, outline it in a way that makes sense, and then write it down in a way that engages people. I'm lucky if I get to crack a few jokes.

I've been working, pretty exclusively, on a book for almost a year now. In fact, it's coming up on a year - it's too damned easy to whittle away the time...

But I desperately need writing buddies. My co-author works two jobs, has her own responsibilities, and I have an immense amount of respect for it. I've got less responsibility, but I still live the life of a professional slacker. =PNeilshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12629966217673330687noreply@blogger.com
